Permit to Purchase / Permit to Carry
To apply for a Minnesota Permit to Purchase or Permit to Carry download the appropriate form and turn it in to your county sheriff's office.
MN Permit to Purchase - Free of charge - Needed to purchase a handgun (21 or older) or Shotgun / Rifle with qualifying features (18 or older) - example: pistol grip shotgun, AR style rifle.

MN Permit to Carry - Must be 21 or older - Must turn in application with copy of certificate of approved course - Also works as a permit to purchase - Fee will vary by agency.
